Welcome to you all, cancer survivors, patients, friends, interested parties.. who you are doesn't matter.  Here you will find those that have lived the fear, those that can relate to what you are undergoing or underwent.  You're on the outside looking in?  Certainly you are welcome here.  We are not afraid of the word cancer, this is not a place to write guardedly.  This is where you can open up, with a feeling of anonymity which you will soon drop, that I truly believe.  There are flags below, the countries and states that people regularly write from are displayed.  You have friends there.  If your country or state isn't highlighted, ask for it to be.  Say something as simple as "hello, I'm from _________" on the Discussion Board or send an e-mail to me (Jim McCulloch).  We are here for you.  Welcome.... may this site be all you want it to be. To the flag display or to the Home Page

Being a CANCER SURVIVOR, a patient, a relative, a friend, or someone who cares, welcome to our site. We have a group made up of people from every corner of the United States, each found this place one at a time on a commercial service or stumbled upon it on the internet. Originally it was on a commercial service then later placed here.  Some of the original participants have gone to other Internet providers, so this web page was born, an attempt to pull everyone together once more as well as expand to help as many as we can. This does not preclude anyone who has not been with us, for our intent is to keep on growing. The participants here are quite perceptive, most have been through what any patient may now be going through. Certainly we are not healers as such, however the opportunity to hear from others that know and understand is priceless. Doctors, Nurses, Psychologists.... they have studied and watched. But they don't truly understand the inner feelings we have from day to day. You can't really know how feet hurt unless you've walked in ill fitting shoes!

Anyone is welcome with us. We share humor when things are going well, we get serious when situations dictate.

How close do we become?  Six years running we have traveled the country to spend a weekend together, Reno, St. Louis, Chicago, Atlanta, San Antonio and Portland, Oregon.  In 2000 there was a national reunion scheduled but it fell through when a great number couldn't make it, for various reasons.  It was scheduled for Las Vegas.  However, a mini-reunion was held in the northeastern part of the United States.

Many, including myself, feel some of the best friends we have in the world are in this group. Please let us know a little about yourself. We certainly would like to read your comments, hear about you, and help in some infinitesimal way if we can.  We're not anything special, we're people who have endured a living Hell.  Many are still living that life, one "normal" people do not and may I add could not understand.  This web page has been around for some time.  In time there will be a great deal more first hand information from those who visit.  Our feeling is simple, there are many organizations and groups who mean well, try hard, and do their very best.  Many of their programs are put together by those that haven't "lived the life," so to speak.  Please, whether you write as an individual or for an organization let us know your thoughts.  You are truly welcome here.  Thanks for your participation.  Once again, a sincere welcome!      Jim McCulloch - Portland, Oregon    Return to top
